Guidelines for editors

Article structure

  • Headline: specific and to the point — who, what, where ("Band X christens record in Buena Vista"), no clickbait.
  • Perex: 2-3 sentences that summarize the most important points; the reader must understand from it what the article is about.
  • Body: 3-5 sentence paragraphs, ~3 paragraph subheadings, guest/band quotes welcome.
  • Range: report 2,500-5,000 characters, review/interview easily more — dense rather than stretched.

Staff culture

  • We write politely, but lively and with heart — we are a music magazine, not an official record.
  • Band names, clubs and names always checked (Bandzone/Facebook is a friend); first occurrence of a full name.
  • Always state the date and place of the event — the article must last even a year from now.
  • Evaluations and impressions yes, but fairly: criticism is based on what happened on the spot.
  • Do not use text from AI without your own work — it will be recognized and we will return it.

How to submit a text

  • Preferably a Google Doc with commenting enabled, or plain text straight into the form below.
  • Without formatting "for beauty" — headings and bold are handled by the editors during typesetting.
  • Add 1-2 sentences about yourself (name, what you do) to the text for the author's medallion.
  • Submit the reports within 3 days of the event, so that they are still warm.

Guidelines for photographers

A selection of photos

  • Send a selection, not a card: 15-30 of the best photos from the event is enough.
  • A mix of shots: entire stages, details of the musicians, the atmosphere and the audience.
  • Throw out blurry, duplicate and test shots — curation is half the job.
  • Do you photograph more bands? Divide the photo report into folders: Band 1, Band 2, Band 3, others.
  • Review and rotate/crop photos before submission; adjust the colors and exposure as you are used to.

Format and preparation

  • JPEG in sRGB, longer side 2560 px, quality ~80% — the website will not use more and we save storage.
  • Name the files `kapela-mesto-poradi.jpg' (eg kapelax-buenavista-01.jpg).
  • The entire selection packed into one ZIP named after the event.
  • In the note, write how to mention you in the captions (name / nickname / website).

How to deliver photos

  • Upload the ZIP to Google Drive, WeTransfer or Storage and insert the link into the form below.
  • Set the link so that it can be downloaded without logging in ("anyone with a link" for the Disk).
  • We are preparing to upload photo reports directly to our Google Drive — until then, please use the link.
  • Never send resized photos via Messenger/WhatsApp — they break the quality.
